Birth control is the utilization of a method or device that prevents pregnancy in a woman who is sexually active. Birth control is also sometimes called contraception, family planning, fertility control, or pregnancy prevention. The purpose of birth control is to stop the egg from being fertilized and/or implanted in the uterine lining. Birth control doesn’t include protection from sexually transmitted infections/diseases.
