Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is what happens in the days before you get your period. Mood swings, breast tenderness, headaches, difficulty sleeping, and irritability, etc. are all common symptoms of PMS. It is not known exactly what causes PMS, and it affects everyone differently; some people may experience physical symptoms of PMS, while others may have psychological or behavioral symptoms. It is sometimes possible to control the symptoms through diet restrictions or modifications and physical exercise; however, sometimes medical treatment and medication are required.
